[ THE OZ Museum...only 9 miles away ]
I mean, how could I not stop at the OZ Museum when en route to the Emerald City? Unfortunately, it was closed, but it was fun to drive through the area it is located.

After a few hours, the ride was getting a bit monotonous. Thus, we stopped and admired the flat lands.

And, we did see an abundance of sunflowers:
Moreover, we wanted to say "Hey Mom!" and "Wassup Dad?!" from the middle of nowhere:

Finally, we started seeing mountains and made it to Denver, Colorado. There, we stayed with my good friend from Goucher College, Rebecca. Rebecca lives in a beautiful section of Denver known as Cherry Creek. We took a walk around a lovely lake in her neighborhood:

We also shared a delicious meal at Den Deli, a seafood market and Japanese bar on South Pearl Street. Next, we had a special stop to make on South Sherman Street. There lives another another seafaring friend of mine, Danni. However, unfortunately Danni was out of town (actually, on a road trip of her own)...but instructed me to check her mailbox for a little something she left for me.

Before I found the above envelope with my name on it, I found something somewhat familiar looking to me on the top of the mail pile.
It was this postcard. This type of postcard is very familiar to me, as Danni used to send me one once a week our senior year of college. She attended CSU in Fort Collins, CO where the New Belgium Brewery is located; there, various funky postcards are given to customers as coasters. The best part about it, is you can actually send the coaster postcards for free. I mentioned to Danni that I LOVE snail mail, so she stared sending me these lovely postcard/coasters quite frequently. I have a huge stack of these accumulated, and I even packed them with me for my new place in Eugene. It's been a while since I've seen one of these postcards, and I always enjoyed reading the little story that accompanied the postcard on the back. I'm sorry, Danni, please don't think I was intruding, but I HAD to flip this postcard over and read the brief blurb on the back....and this is what I found:
Turns out that's Emily on the font (coincidence?); and she's on a bike (something I told Danni would be one of my first purchases when I get to Eugene) AND she's wearing a tutu (I like to dance and I used to pirouette on the daily in my Ballet classes)
Please note: Danni comes home today, so I don't think I am spoiling too much of what surprises remain in her mailbox. Besides, I slipped a surprise of my own in there that will remain unknown.
My evening ended at a denim party; only in Denver would I end up at a Denim Party.
