Thank you, Colorado, for providing a beautifully breathtaking change of scenery. Yesterdays drive across America was incredible!
Before we started cruising through the mountains, we had a delectable breakfast at a place in Denver called Syrup. Of course, syrup is one of their specialties; I was craving an omelet, but I figured I had to have something involving syrup, so Dave and I split an appetizer of three waffles with three different syrups to choose from; there was quite a variety, but we finzlized with getting the agave honey syrup, maple vanilla syrup, and apple cinnamon syrup; we both agreed the apple cinnamon was the best.
We then made a quick stop bythe Denver Art Museum. What a magnificent space! Mike took the time to admire the architecture, as I admired all of the outdoor art.

We next prepared for another long ride and filled Tellulah in Genesee, where in the rest stop I came across this:
…Which I found just great for a rest stop.
Onward, we trecked through the rocky mountains. I think we all experienced that rocky mountain high; it was the best drive we’ve had yet.

What a change from the Kansas flatlands! Before we knew it, were were leaving colorful Colorado:
And entering Utah:
We witnessed even more extrodinary scenery. We made a stop at Arches National Park. There, we took a short hike through the trails to see one of the infamous arches.

If we had more time, I think we’d be hiking around that place all day..but we had to hit the road to Salt Lake City!

All in all, yesterdays portion of Rockin across America was simply divine. Talk about a scenic drive…
Miss Em,
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Sorry you all don't remember the scenery like that when we lived in El Paso and took you to Santa Fe (except David).
By the way, how many Penn shirts does Dave own?
It's so great that you're all documenting this trip. What a memento to share in the future! :o)
